NETWURX – EMERGENCY WEATHER ADVISORY, Revised
Dear D.D. SLING & SUPPLY,
Our apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message.
There was a problem with our previous mailing, in particular we wrote “Dead Customer Name” instead of “Dear Customer Name.” We hope you are alive and well!
A severe weather advisory has been issued for nearly all homes within our service area for tomorrow and Wednesday this week.
This advisory is for Extremely HIGH WINDS in excess of 65 Miles per hour (F0 on the Fujita Tornado Scale, 73 miles per hour would take us to F1 status). As you know many of you have equipment mounted on your roof which makes some people subject to damage by both wind and debris, to both home and our equipment mounted on your roof. Winds are expected on Tuesday with a lul Tuesday evening and then more severe winds on Wednesday.
Winds should not affect your service unless it damages or moves the equipment mounted on your roof. Debris can affect your service but this is typically very short, less then minutes.
If you do find your service interrupted, first try to visually inspect the equipment on the roof and make sure it is not damaged. Also if you know which way it is facing, try to determine if it is still aimed the way it should be before calling. (You may want to take a look at it tonight so that its direction is fresh in your mind).
We also advise that during this time, unplug all of your electronics from the wall when not in use. Downed power lines are expected and we are informed to expect prolonged power outages for the next few days. Please disconnect your Netwurx equipment both from the power line connected to the wall as well as any hardware connected to routers and equipment when possible. It is advised to remove all lawn chairs, lawn ornaments and lite items from your yard this evening before the winds begin including Halloween decorations
We expect greater then normal call volumes over the next few days as well as a full repair queue, please be patient as we will get to people as quickly as possible. Towers have battery backup but as power outages my exceed 2 hours backup power will likely fail. Generators are being prepped for dispatch but as this storm covers our entire network, there is a possibility that we will not have enough to keep all facilities operational in any extended power situation should one happen.
ALSO, be aware that damage to cell towers and our tower equipment is likely. For the safety of our climbers and installers, heading OSHA warnings, repairs will not be able to begin on this equipment until after 7PM on Wednesday. Depending on the possible extent of damage, repairs may even take up to several days to be back to normal should the damages be significant. We will work diligently but safely should any repairs be needed.

Batten down the hatches and good luck to all, we will be here if you need us.
